Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes more. Add ground beef, season with paprika, thyme, and salt & pepper as desired. Cook until meat is browned. Remove from the heat.
Add all ingredients into an oven safe casserole dish and cover.
Bake for 90 minutes.
Cabbage Roll Casserole
5 cups cabbage, chopped
1 onion, chopped
5 garlic cloves
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup cider vinegar
2 cups apples, chopped
1 tsp dried sage
Pork roast (3-4 lbs)
Salt & Pepper to taste
Add and mix the cabbage, onion, garlic, brown sugar, vinegar, apples and sage in a slow cooker.
Heat oil in a heavy pan over medium heat. Season the pork with salt and pepper and brown on all sides. Remove the pork and place in the slow cooker. Add 1/4 cup water to the pan and heat to remove the pork drippings. Add the liquid to the slow cooker.
Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours. Pork is done when the internal temperature has reached 71 degrees C (160 degrees F).
Remove pork from the slow cooker and shred pork. Add pork back to the cabbage mixture.
